WP22 - Technology Lines - Development and Implementation

WP Title: Technology Lines - Development and Implementation of Technologies Management

Objective

The work will focus on coordination of the developments in the technology lines, and transfer the findings into innovations to the market. Technology work is done in the associated WPs of SP3, and this WP will look at the technology work from a helicopter perspective. The helicopter perspective is essential for bringing the technology to the market. This includes identification of innovative aspects, the advances as compared to the state-of-the-art, and finally the roadmap identifying the path to market introduction. Introducing the high-level view allows an analysis of applicability of building blocks in other domains, as well as a comparative view with successful market introduction of other technologies. Our primary assumption is that a roadmap to market introduction includes the identification of obstacles, market players, and technology advances, and finally suggests how to address the market introduction. This work package also manages risk and change in specifications from technological perspective. The work in each technology line sub-package will be monitored, verified and validated with respect to the established development plan (working schedule, milestones etc.) and functional quality of the technology developed. The development of a roadmap to a more secure and privacy-aware society (including industry, consumers, governmental and public sector bodies) is seen as the major outcome of this WP. The roadmap work will also address national and EU-wide alliances for adaptation of standards for trustworthy, secure and privacy-aware products and services. Additionally, this work package will provide links to other SP’s, especially to the different use cases and overall project structure.

Movation (8 PM) will lead SP3 with focus on roadmaps, lessons learned and commonalities from developments and implementation work.

UiO (4 PM) will lead task 1 and establish the scientific background for the roadmap. UiO will establish the comparison to the state-of-science

Working area

SCOTT general goals

  • Focus on Security, Safety, Privacy and Trustability
    SCOTT targets trustable simple-to-use security for the professional and private end user. It will simplify security and privacy activation and configuration and pave the way via quantifiable security to a secure information flow in the IoT-driven industry. SCOTT will develop a metrics and a framework for measurable security and privacy and create an unprecedented privacy labelling for systems and systems of systems similar to the well-known energy labelling. In addition, SCOTT will combine safety and security, two so far largely separated areas in design and development to be used even in harsh and/or not trusted environments.
    • This general goal mentions all activities of UiO and Movation, specially PL and measurability.
  • Focus on including psychological and socio-contextual enablers for trust formation
    SCOTT includes social scientists and advanced systems engineering techniques to create and apply a trust framework that explicitly considers, analyzes, and includes individual and contextual variables to facilitate trust formation in each use case. The SCOTT trust framework will also allow for reproducible and generalizable findings, which can be used far beyond SCOTT. The SCOTT trust framework will be based on international guidance for trustworthy system development and standards in systems engineering, extend existing frameworks, and be applied throughout the whole project duration.
    • Tore, Johanna, and Christian will work in this part, focusing more on privacy aspects.
