WP23 - Security and Safety

WP Title: Security and Safety
Project: SCOTT
Lead partner: Nokia
Leader: Silke Holtmanns

Objective

One key high-level objective of this project is to secure IoT devices and justify the trust the users put into them. Since IoT devices cover such a wide range, SCOTT does not try to find one all-encompassing solution that fits all, our objective is to identify key needs for each type of IoT that we have in the consortium, harmonize commonalities and leave room for specific IoT needs e.g. airplanes. The objective of this Technology Line is to find solutions or extend existing solutions for IoT to provide:

  • Development of solutions to build trust in smart wirelessly connected devices, components and systems
  • Development of flexible security and privacy architecture that allow pre-processing of data depending on use case e.g. gateway support, end-device capability
  • Development of integrated safety and security development approaches

Another important objective of SCOTT is the market introduction through the privacy labels (A++, A+...D). Privacy labelling will establish measures of privacy, e.g., the distribution of personal information, and relate them to privacy labels. Work on privacy labelling will be done outside of this work package (in work package WP26). The labelling itself will be based on results of building blocks of this work package.

Working area

Thanks to you who went through the Building Blocks. But some have NOT updated at the security & safety Building Blocks (BB) below. Please revise and update them, under the BB large part of the implementation work will fall, so it is important that they are correct. We are already late and the whole project gets delayed. It does not take that long to walk through them and correct the high level description of the work.
