Course UNIK4230
Title Small Cells and HetNets
Lecture date 2015/05/21 13:15 - 16:00
presented by Per Hjalmar Lehne
Objective The objective of this lecture is to provide an overview over the challenges of providing coverage and capacity when conventional macro-cells are unavailable or not feasible. The lecture will explain
  • What small cells are and what concepts exists
  • What we mean with NetNets
  • The supporting network architecture for the different small cell concepts
Learning outcomes Having joined this lecture, you will
  • understand the challenges of indoor coverage and capacity
  • understand the principle of Femto Cells
  • be able to explain the effect of increased network capacity when the macro network is supported by indoor base stations.
