Agenda
- Norway's Involvement
- Food security link with Global Health
- Sustainable Livelihood
- Universities involvement
Norway's Involvement
- There is a need for increased commitment from Norway
- The local South African Embassy and the local Norwegian Embassy should be involved
- The idea is not for the North going to the south but for the south and the north coming together to make mutually beneficial impact
The Universities
- Three Universities are interested in joining and working on the project which will be launched on the 18th of July. The universities include Nelson Mandela University, National University of Guinea and University of Kananga in DRC as their key issue is based on connectivity.
- Their interest is in working together with the University of Oslo, focusing on Global Digital health thus bringing the North to the south
- The reason why the universities are a better approach to the project is due the fact that the universities are less likely to be controlled by the government.
- The reason as to why, they are staying away from working with the government is because the bureaucracy in the government and corruption delays implementation of projects
- The model taken by the Pan-African Institute is built on Africa and to move further the spirit of Pan-Africanism across the continent. The approach is based not he Nelson Mandela International Day and everything has to befit the Nelson Mandela spirit.
Impact
- The need is to look at how many people can we make intervention for compared to an individual beneficial impact
- Rules need to be changed because the regulatory framework is what delays implementation. How can the rules befit projects that will have a progressive impact?
- The recommendation A+B should both be put together to help solves the issues of access and connectivity
- Open source messages for health are risky due to fake news and should thereby be tailored in such a way that the messages should be agreed on by the WHO for security and safety reasons before dissemination.
- Luvunyo insists on the need for solid partners with ideal goals
