Subtasks in T4.2

T4.2.1 Visualization platform development

Objective: Objective for this subtask is to develop the technical part of the Smart Grid Security Centre meaning a visualization platform for security models and modules developed in WP 2. Platform will be build in simulation centre facilities located in Remmen Science Centre in Halden. Work will include selection of suitable models and modules, development of visualization plan and implementing the selected models and modules according to the visualization plan into the Simulation Centre facilities. Visualization platform development will be an ongoing activity according to new needs for visualization platform features raising from the industry and research society involved in the project

Results: Visualization platform established.

Deliverables: Technical report

T4.2.2 Industrial applicability

Objectives:

  • establish ... Josef/Iñaki to update: industrial testbeds, e.g. Basic Internet testbed for IoTSec devices

T4.2.2 Smart Grid Security Centre

Objective: In this subtask the Smart Grid Security Centre is operated based on the needs of the industry and experience of the research field. Activities involve necessary simulations and pilots in order to define end-user applicability of the research results established in this project. Simulation and piloting activities will start gradually as soon as suitable models or modules are available for simulation. Smart Grid Security Centre will involve at least 15 companies becoming the essential link between research and industry in the field of IoT security and the innovation point for future projects and ideas. As a final goal for this task is to gain the international centre of excellence status and create new research and business opportunities.

Results: Smart Grid Security Centre is operational and International Centre of Excellence status is achieved.

Deliverables: Operational plan of the Smart Grid Security Centre, periodical activity reports

Milestones

M12 Outline of the Smart Grid Security Centre is ready( includes technical report on visualization platform and operational plan of the centre)

M24 First Models/Modules implemented

M36 Smart Grid Security Centre operational

Expected results

This task has the following expected results

  • Outline of the Smart Grid Security Center is ready including technical design of the visualization platform for security modules and operational plan of the Centre (M12)
  • First Models or Modules are implemented into the visualization platform (M24)
  • Smart Grid Security Centre is operational (M36)

//Old text below

Details:

  • Assessment of security modules
  • Establish simulations of modules, and share with end-users
  • Pilot demonstrations of IoTSec solutions, e.g. BasicInternet lab

In this task the Smart Grid Security Centre will be established based on the needs of the industry and experience of the research field. Smart Grid Security Centre will involve at least 15 companies. This will become the essential link between research and industry in the field of IoT security and the innovation point for future projects and ideas. Smart Innovation Østfold is already hosting NCE Smart Energy Markets cluster and will use this previous expertise to successfully host the development and execution of the Smart Grid Security Centre. As a final goal for this task is to gain the international centre of expertise status. The concrete soul of the Smart Grid Security Centre will be the security laboratory developed in this task through which innovative solutions for securing smart grids can be developed. Development of the security lab includes assessment of security modules developed in the project, simulations of modules and feedback from Smart Grid Security Centre partners. Finally solutions for securing smart grids developed in the IoTSec project will be demonstrated.
