|Objective=The course covers antennas and radiowave propagation in the frequenc range of about 100 MHZ to 300 GHz. The antenna part presents general theory, wire (monopole, dipole), apertures (horn, reflector), and micro-strip (phased array). The propagation parts includes free space loss, reflection, diffraction, effects of atmospheric gases, precipitation (rain, snow), and abnormal air mixtures (inversion layers), system dimensioning, and radio channel models. The course emphasizes actual radio systems such a mobiel communications, broadband wireless access, wireless local access networks, point to point links, point to multipoint links, and radar.
