* Data by Opera Software show that 10 minutes of video is equal to 10 month of information (using lightweight representations). Thus, we suggest regulatory  where the 3% bandwidth is reserved to give access to information

*The AMP format is a lightweight format, and was introduced by Google to ease the search. AMP is an add-on to wordpress, which allows the majority of Web pages to deliver lightweight (AMP) versions.
*With the amp format comes in our business model whereby, those in need of video access will need subscription through our voucher system whilst the information in the amp format (texts and pictures) is freely accessible

* An alternative solution for lightweight (server-side or network-side compression) are the proxies by Google Chrome and Opera Mini, that reduce dynamic Web pages to static and reduced file-size versions.

* The AMP format is an example of the implementation of the Freemium model for access: free for lightweight Web, and premium for those in need of video access. Our implementation of the premium version is through vouchers.

Internet Lite

  • The Internet Lite concept, introduced by the Basic Internet Foundation, ensures network neutrality (nett-neutrality), as every content is equally treated. The division between free and premium is based on content types.
  • This is whereby we do not just focus on filtering content but rather filtering by the content type. Using lightweight formats (text, pictures and AMP) reduces the bandwidth substantially.
  • The information shared in AMP format is equally good and reliable because it just takes in the existing information and filtering the video content to remain with texts and pictures, see http://BasicInternet.org/Mission/?amp as an example
  • Data by Opera Software show that 10 minutes of video is equal to 10 month of information (using lightweight representations). Thus, we suggest regulatory where the 3% bandwidth is reserved to give access to information
  • The AMP format is a lightweight format, and was introduced by Google to ease the search. AMP is an add-on to wordpress, which allows the majority of Web pages to deliver lightweight (AMP) versions.
  • An alternative solution for lightweight (server-side or network-side compression) are the proxies by Google Chrome and Opera Mini, that reduce dynamic Web pages to static and reduced file-size versions.
  • The AMP format is an example of the implementation of the Freemium model for access: free for lightweight Web, and premium for those in need of video access. Our implementation of the premium version is through vouchers.

  • We need to come up with a development strategy
  • The community platform development will focus on on community-based content and it should be framed as an alternative approach rather than an replacement of existing platforms
  • The community platform should ensure an open-source implementation ensure that it addresses the gaps in the existing platforms so that it is water tight
  • We need to address the regulatory issues that can work when creating the platform
  • The focus on the community platform development is creating one which individuals within the community can freely create their own content and not only consume the content that is existing
  • Ideally, the platform should be community-owned so that it is tailored towards the need its local people
