About Basic Internet Foundation

Vision: Our vision is to improve the life of every human through free access to information on the Internet.

Our solution is two-fold; First, we reach out to areas where there is no Internet. Second, we provide Internet Lite, the freemium model for access.

BasicInternet 1.0 - The access to Internet in areas

  • Providing Internet "InfoSpots", which are Wifi Spots using the mobile network
  • Promoting free access to information
  • The InfoSpot is based on a mobile network receive antenna, a local network control centre (LNCC) and a village server
  • Reaching out to more than 20 km, as e.g. Selela where the mobile tower is about 22 km away, and Izazi, a village "behind the hill" https://basicinternet.org/it-only-takes-90-min-to-connect-izazi/

BasicInternet 2.0 - skills, regulations and inclusion
