Industrial development through universal/global coverage and 5G

The Department of Technology Systems (ITS) at the University of Oslo (UiO) invites industrial players to a workshop on OneWeb satellite constellation and 5G at Kjeller!

Date: 2nd February 20222 from 12:30-15:30

Venue (hybrid): Auditorium (due to requirements for allocated seats for a maximum of 30 pers.) & https://uio.zoom.us/j/2313898139

The goal is to offer global satellite broadband services to people everywhere. 24Jan2022 a OneWeb installation came to UiO at Kjeller, based on the initiative from FFI.

The workshop provides an insight into OneWeb operation, the goal of the pilot at Kjeller, and the contribution to universal coverage. Together with 5G, global & universal coverage creates an opportunity for Norwegian players. During the workshop, the prerequisites for the success of the industrial design are discussed, such as license conditions, reliability, safety.

The program:

1230 registration and come-together,
1300 Welcome - Future Technologies @ Kjeller (Cecilie) (10 + 5),
1315 Universal coverage - challenges for the 5G industry (Pål Orten) (15 + 10),
1340 OneWeb expectations for the pilot (Emmanuel Rygg, FFI - tuberculosis) (15 + 10)
1405 OneWeb system overview and key specifications (n.n., OneWeb) (20 + 10)
1435 5G in a global perspective (n.n. -) // License conditions for a global operator (n.n., NKOM) (10 + 5)
1450 Panel debate “success criteria for industrial success of 5G in Norway / world”
Prof. Josef Noll (UiO) leads a discussion of industrial experts in industrial development
1530 end of meeting

Welcome to a sneak peek at the revolutionary broadband services of the future!

Registration comes on UiO's web.
