Discussion of potential master thesis. Envisaged short thesis from Mon 23Jan2017- 29May2017

"Evaluation of security implications for energy control of home devices"

Topic

1) literature review (what is going on in the field)
2) typical Norwegian/Nordic household
3) how many devices, how much power do they consume
4) goal of reducing x % of energy, what are the implications?
5) security analysis: remote control (operator) or edge computing (smart device in the home reacting on electricity prices)

First steps:

  • check with studinfo on the need of an essay: if needed write the essay as the "state-of-the-art"
  • literature analysis (review of 20-30 related scientific papers)
  • classify, and provide the classification
  • write 1. half a page on the potential thesis (and then start writing on the thesis - TOC)
