Purpose

Information exchange for connecting schools in rural areas.

Notes

GUIFI Africa

  • Alfred has worked with Ramon Roca (GUIFI network) to take the community network idea to Africa
  • The major bottleneck is the cost of the backbone, typically being around 500 USD for a 5 Mbps/month. Stephen Fosu, having built Step Network (@SNETGH)
  • GUIFI Africa received the license in Oct2021, and now pursues the activities in connecting schools in rural areas
