DigSocEmpower Task description

Figure 1: Gant chart of DigSocEmpower, indicating the work-packages, tasks, internal synchronisation points and milestones

The WPs and Tasks are as follows

WP1 Insight in Smart Homes

T1.1: High-resolution energy measurements - T1.1 collects and analyses fine-grained electricity data, reaching out to at least 10 buildings, with 10-15 fuses each, and measures of electricity use every 10s. The buildings are both private homes and public buildings, e.g. the UiO building at Kjeller. Marianne Zeyringer and Josef Noll (ITS) have established the proof-of-concept installation,
T1.2: Creation of open data set - consisting of high-resolution electricity data, and make them available to the international researcher community.
T1.3: Functional architecture - will use the experience from the EU GHOST project to establish the functional architecture.

WP2 - Resilience and Autonomy in home networks

T2.1: Big data and machine learning algorithms - is based on the ongoing work for wireless networks, and will be extended and applied for electricity data
T2.2: Edge algorithms - are decisions making subsets from the outcome of the machine learning in T2.1, and will be the basis for implementation in T3.1
T2.3: Cloud-Edge continuum - researches the knowledge transfer between the cloud and the edge, focussion on how to update the decision making on a resource-constrained device

WP3 - Prototypical implementation of core concepts

T3.1: Identification of core algorithms for the intelligent edge - will define the set of algorithms to be used for communication with the end-user
T3.2: Prototypical event capture and communication - will establish context-aware communication based on events in the networks
T3.3: Feedback on communication messages - manages the user groups to provide recommendations on how to communicate events and involve the user

WP4 - Trust and User Empowerment

T4.1: Identification of focus groups and co-creation workshops - uses security psychology and human factors for user empowerment in the smart home
T4.2: Mock-ups for communication messages - will create mock-ups and measure user involvement based on the mock-ups
T4.3: Trust-enhancing mechanisms and participation - provides the framework for trust-enhancement and best praxis on user participation

WP5 - Management, Communication, Exploitation and Dissemination

T7.1: Management, performs the overall project management and is responsible for reporting to Research Council
T7.2: Communication, Exploitation and Dissemination will focus on the envisaged target groups, as well as scientific communication
