Purpose of the travel: Visit of all sub-village leaders and planning of hotspot location in Idodi / Kimande. Measurement of signals and strengths in the control villages. Inspection of all hotspots in Izazi (2) and Migoli (3). Planning of launch of village platform in the communities. Handover tablets to Rashid in BOACSE. Preparations and kick off for the 1st follow up round of data collection for the DigI Iringa study.
Arrival from Norway and met by Ernest Nyoni (research team leader) and Ezekiel Mbwilo (driver).Visited Idodi dispensary (optional hotspot), and the village office (see picture). DigI:Villages and DigI:Kimande for more information.
Between meetings with sub-village leaders and people from the communities, preparations for the second round / first follow up in the study "Free digital health education in Iringa, Tanzania" took place. All tablets were updated, and the questionnaire was gone through in detail, to make sure everything was perfect in our didgital data collection tool. Testing was successfully conducted on site.
Our intervention villages DigI:Izazi and DigI:Migoli were visited, and all sub-village leaders were participating in the meetings, ensuring their support. We are convinced that without this local and crucial, it would be very difficult to implement such a digital innovation project, with the following digital health intervention. We are humble and grateful for the collaborating efforts in the villages.
