Objective
Preparatory steps are taken in order to identify and prioritize those areas of work in which standardization, regulation and certification might become relevant in a subsequent phase. Furthermore, structures are to be established, networks and co-operations are to be approached which enable a “fast track” in cases where it might become apparent that a certain SCOTT development has the potential and format to serve as a standard for comprehensive application in wireless devices. The SCOTT project will establish close contact with relevant business units and industrial associations in Europe to identify technologies that have the potential and format to serve as a standard for comprehensive application in wireless devices. Contact with standardization bodies will also be pursued actively to support the standardization and certification activities.
Frequent monitoring events will be organized to identify new trends in the regulation and ensure the progress and results of SCOTT conform to legislation. On the other hand, SCOTT can also provide European legislation bodies input based on the project outcome.
SCOTT aims to develop a framework that consists of methodologies, tools and processes to enable a “fast track” for potential standardization and certification of cross-domain technology that promises high impact. To deliver this, a key objective of this work package is also to encourage, guide and support the SCOTT contributors at all levels to deliver results that make an impact in the early stages of the standardisation process.
Objectives:
- Develop methodologies, tools and processes to enable a “fast track” for potential standardization and certification of SCOTT developments
- Establish close contact with relevant business units, communities and industrial associations in Europe and worldwide • Identify new trends in the regulation and ensure the progress and results of SCOTT conform to legislation
- Provide European legislation bodies and initiatives input based on the project outcome
Facilitate standardization, regulation and certification of SCOTT technical solutions
