About
Dr Isabwe is a founder and CEO of Future Competence International Ltd. He also works as an Associate Professor of Multimedia & eLearning at the Faculty of Engineering and Science, University of Agder, Norway. He holds a PhD in Information and Communication Technology from the University of Agder, specialising in mobile learning and human-centred design of interactive systems. His academic interests include interaction design; human-centred design; usability engineering; open, distance and e-learning; visualisations & simulations in mathematics education and gamification of learning. Dr Isabwe has more than 14 years of experience in ICT, Multimedia & Educational Technology, working at University of Agder; Swansea University (UK), the University of Rwanda, and in government positions (Rwanda). He is involved in the development of massive open online courses (MOOCs) at University of Agder and training of academic staff in online pedagogy and digital media technology at Makerere University. Dr Isabwe was a member of the independent evaluation committee for the establishment of African Centers of Excellence (2015 – 2016) and he is a reviewer of the International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning and the IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing. He is a regular speaker and presenter at international conferences on digital technology supported teaching and learning.
