About IoTSec
The vision of IoTSec - Security in IoT for Smart Grids is to promote the development of a safe and secure Internet-of-Things (IoT)-enabled smart power grid infrastructure. IoTSec addresses the basic needs for a reliable and efficient, uninterrupted power network with dynamic configuration and security properties. It addresses in addition the needs of businesses and end users of additional IoT services by exploring use cases for value-added services with the intent to design the building blocks for future services that consider the necessary security and privacy preconditions of successfully deployed large-scale services. IoTSec will apply the research in the envisaged Security Centre for Smart Grids, co-located with the Norwegian Centre of Excellence (NCE Smart).

UNIK is a non-profit educational and research foundation owned by the University of Oslo (UiO), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the three major research institutes: the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment (FFI), Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) and Telenor R&D. UNIK is a graduate educational institution for master and doctoral students, primarily from UiO and NTNU. The main focus of UNIK is on applied science.

NCE Smart
The Norwegian Centre of Expertise Smart Energy Markets (NCE Smart) is the fastest growing and most internationally oriented energy and ICT industry cluster in Norway. NCE Smart consists of leading companies within energy trading, energy technology and ICT systems. They have developed products targeting the international energy market through a unique international network. NCE Smart Energy Markets is an accelerator for growth among cluster and industry partners, and is a catalyst for commerce-directed higher education and R&D. Simula
The Simula Group is the fourth largest Contract Research Organization (CRO) in Europe, and the largest independent research organiIoTSecion in Scandinavia. Simula will be a project partner using personnel from two of its institutes to perform the work. Simula ICT will contribute with expertise on signal propagation and signal processing, while MARINTEK will contribute with its experience and expertise in the field of applied maritime communications. Simula ICT will be the coordinator of Simula's activities under this proposal.
